About me

Born close to Palencia, a small City in the North of Spain, on the 22nd July 1975, and living in a small village all thought my childhood. I started painting on the abandoned walls of derelict houses, graduating to filming redundant doors. At age 18 I left to travel Europe, drawing postcards in Paris to sell on the streets, and seeking inspiration from in Rome. England finally beckoned in 1996, where I have stayed ever since, inspired by Baconism and William Blake.

1991 - 1996

I followed my studies in the Art School of Palencia "Mariano Timon", working with different groups and media I was taught how to use art as an alternative means of communication. I believe art can not be taught, but found.

1995

Selected by Antoņio lopez, top Spanish hyper-realistic artist, to exhibit in “Diaz Caneja” museum with “La Diosa de Ellas”.. one of my first quality works. Later, I travelled thought the main cities of Europe including Paris, Geneva, Milan, Amsterdam, Rome, and other minor towns that crossed my way, leaving my work with admirers along the journey.

1996 - 1999

Once Settled in London and working from there, I exhibited in Barcelona, Madrid and my hometown Palencia, collaborating in group exhibitions throughout Spain and in London.

I moved to the countryside in West Sussex working as a decorator in my free time. Once there and away from city life, I became the artist I now consider myself, always looking for the difficulties that art created. My art always sent me abroad as West Sussex never seemed to understand my work! I sold art via the Internet and, working together with antique dealiers, I started to make a living painting on large canveses.

2000 - 2004

Moved south to Brighton to start all over again. Tired of my art, I stared looking for new ideas and moved for a time to conceptual art. I opened my first (unofficial) Open House in 2003 entitled "Waiting for the Useless" with much success. In May 2004 I opened the doors to my first official Open House entitled "I Was Not There" as part of the Brighton Festival Fringe.

2005

3rd Open House in the Brighton Festival Fringe. I showed in Hoxton London with Ode to Cadiz.

2006

New York offer me a solo show. This will be the biggest solo exhibition since I started painting. I have the luck to work in Barcelona for a while and start flirting with the Paris art Scene. I will end the year with a show in London and a Xmas show in Brighton. At the same time I'll prepare for another solo show in Brighton with more than 30 works called “One year without me.”
